30 ideas to keep yourself busy during lockdown

Hello World πŸ’œ

Welcome back to my blog! As we are nearing closer and closer to almost two months in coronavirus lockdown in the UK I’m sure many of us are reaching their breaking points with regards to boredom – hence why there were so many stupid idiots breaking social distancing advice out at the weekends and even ignoring government and NHS pleas to stay in doors. We are at over 26,000 deaths in our country and this daily death toll rate is still increasing which is why I’ve combined a list of 30 different ideas that YOU can use to keep yourself busy and occupied whilst staying safe and indoors during the coronavirus lockdown.

  1. Download the Amazon Kindle App on your phone / tablet / iPad – there are thousands of free books.
  2. Join the Amazon #spreadkindess twitter thread
  3. Create a Zoom girly / boys night
  4. Host a Zoom quiz night
  5. Write letters to care home residents
  6. Start a blog
  7. Create a YouTube channel
  8. Get your old Legos / K’nex out of the attic and rebuild them
  9. Have a Spa Day
  10. Clear out your wardrobe with the use of vacuum bags
  11. Subscribe to Disney+
  12. Do a crossword
  13. Start a bullet journal
  14. Create a scrapbook
  15. Learn a new language
  16. Download a mindfulness app and use this to meditate to ease anxieties and stress
  17. Take part in Thursday’s #ClapForCarers
  18. Go on your daily walk around your neighborhood – remember social distancing and this is not an excuse to meet up with friends or drive for hours to go a mountain walk or to visit the beach
  19. Play Animal Crossing New Horizons on the Nintendo Switch
  20. Get out your old Play Station One consoles and play the games from your childhood
  21. Search for new career opportunities
  22. Put extra money away for a mortgage – you can’t spend it at the High Street, might as well make a proper use of your time and money for YOUR future
  23. Bake a cake or a loaf of bread and pretend you are taking part in the Great British Bake Off – remember to post your pictures on social media and tag in Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith
  24. Learn how to knit and make your own facemasks OR use a sewing machine and create extra uniforms for the NHS and care home staff and donate them
  25. Support local business via Etsy or by buying your groceries from local farm shops
  26. Do that DIY project that you started 4 years ago but never finished
  27. Play a board game
  28. Build a puzzle
  29. Download TikTok and take part in some viral trends, like the #getnakey challenge
  30. Facetime your loved ones

These are my 30 ideas for beating boredom whilst keeping yourself save and occupied during COVID-19 lockdown. Have you got any other ideas that you have used? Make sure to share them below and lets continue to support one another πŸ’œ

Love, Leo x

  1. I’ve loved having zoom quizzes during lockdown. I love quizzes in general so the fact that they’re happening so often is a dream for me!! I also love playing board games with my family an dI just finished a puzzle! Great iist!

  2. What a great list! I love that you have so many fun/light options, but also made room for self care and some personal growth ideas too. With all this free time on our hands, there’s room to pick up new hobbies and leisure activities, but also to expand ourselves and start big new projects!

  3. I’ve just got Tik Tok & I’m loving it. Ha. I really didn’t think it’d be for me, but I can stop! Fab list though, we’ve definitely been doing lots more baking while in lockdown & I’ve tried my hardest to buy from independents where possible!

  4. In the Philippines as well, we’re nearing out 2 month lockdown. And yes, cabin fever is real! I wish we can go out though around the neighborhood at least but cops are roaming around, discouraging people from doing so. We might get locked up.

But I also made a list of ways I fight cabin fever off.

  5. I love the Zoom Quiz night idea πŸ™‚ We have been working on #6 and #7 those will take care of any free time you had really quickly πŸ™‚

  6. I downloaded Disney + when it first came out and only just started watching it last week. I can’t believe I waited so long I just love it! The zoom quiz idea is such a cool thing to do I will definitely have to try it out with my friends at some point!

  8. These are all wonderful ideas. I’m thinking I’m going to try a bullet journal so I can plan out my week a bit better. Thanks for posting!
