Top 10 Netflix Picks for June

Hello World πŸ’œ

Welcome back to my Blog! Its safe to say that since lockdown began in the United Kingdom I’ve definitely watched more Netflix compared to any other time in my life since the streaming service erupted into our lives. And with the safest place to be is to stay safe at a socially distanced space, you might as well stay at home and watch those movies and television shows you’ve always wanted to watch but never had the opportunity or time to do so. With that being said my blog today is about to be split into two sections: Film and TV Show, and for each section I’m going to be giving you my Top 5 Favorites for the month of June! Because lets face it, a Netflix binge, pajamas and good food is the perfect way to spend your lockdown days.

I also want to know what you’ve been watching as well, I’m always up for a good Netflix binge with something new to watch πŸ’œ

** Side note ** No Spoilers!!

Top 5 TV Shows

I am obsessed with everything related to Queer Eye and the Fab 5. The brand new season is just bigger and better than ever before, I would give anything for the Fab 5 to come and help me sort out my life. Season 5 is filled with even more sass, laughter and tears if that is even possible.

The only thing I will say about Season 4 is that the finale episode does not exist, my heart is broken with how it ended so instead if anyone asks, the series ended during the 9th episode.

I only started and finished New Girl two weeks ago, so I’m pretty late to the game however it was well worth the wait. I love Schmidt, Max Greenfield is so handsome and funny, I rooted for him from the start with the relationship between Schmidt and Cece. The episode with Prince has to be my all time favorite, he was just so naturally funny and fitted so well into the cast dynamic.

By now everyone knows about the disgrace that Epstein was, but by watching this documentary I was physically sick to my stomach by the treatment and failings of the police, FBI and United States Government towards the survivors. I hope to God that one day all of his collaborators get their comeuppance.

When I first watched Derry Girls, I just didn’t get it, but after watching the entire series back to back, I love it. It has that Inbetweeners classic British humor comedy but mixed with genuine History of the Catholic and Protestant divide between Ireland and Northern Ireland in the 90s.

Top 5 Films

It has Ryan Gosling. That is all.

The Breakfast club

This movie is legendary – I watched it for the first time while is isolation, I’d known of it but just never watched it which is pretty embarrassing because of how GOOD it is. Even now the storyline of the characters is so paramount to our society, we could definitely learn a thing or two from this film.

I love this movie and its just one of those that no matter how many times I’ve seen it, I just have to watch it again and again. My favorite scene has to be the baby book reading meltdown, I still cry with utter laughter, oh and I love the Dad Group as well!

This movie is so funny in its simplicity, I love any movie with Taraji P. Henson it blows my mind that she hasn’t won any Oscars for any of the movies she has been in.

When it comes to more ‘recent’ teen movies, The Duff has to be up at the top of the list as one of the best. It has everything you need in a movie; love and heartbreak, friendships and enemies as well as laugh out loud comedy.

Those are my 10 Netflix Picks for June – have you seen any of these? What did you think of them? Do you have any suggestions on what I should watch next? Let me know in the comments below πŸ’œ

Love, Leo x

  1. i’ve been waiting what feels like YEARS for season 5 of queer eye! it’s one of the most uplifting programmes i’ve seen in a long time i absolutely love it πŸ’•βœ¨

  2. I always love lists like this. I’m always looking for more things to watch.
I’m most interested in Derry Girls and the Jeffrey Epstein documentary. Also, when I watched The Duff I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. It was so good though!
    Thank you for sharing!

  3. The Breakfast Club is classic and The Notebook always brings a tear to my eye. We recently watched Blended (an Adam Sandler movie) which was pretty funny and Knives Out which was really good too. 😊

  4. I just added New Girl to my list a few nights ago. I’ve never watched The Breakfast Club. I have been unemployed since May but just now kind of have time in between applying for jobs now that I finally found health insurance. It’s not easy to find out of work.

  5. I love Queer Eye so I’ll definitely be watching the new season! I’m still on season 3 of 13 Reasons Why so maybe one day I’ll finish it…also I loved Derry Girls & The Breakfast Club is a classic!

  6. I LOVE What to Expect When You’re Expecting! It’s so funny and has a really great cast – I agree that the baby book reading has to be the best scene too πŸ˜‚ I haven’t yet seen the fourth season of 13RW but I accidentally read a spoiler and I’m gutted – I haven’t actually watched the third season yet either so I best crack on! x

  7. Ah, The Breakfast Club. I definitely got to go watch that again. Thanks for sharing, I might try some of these that I have not seen.
